For the third consecutive year, we are looking for ambitious, curious, and motivated individuals to join Fieldfisher in September 2024, with a view to complete a two-year apprenticeship as part of our unique Apprenticeship Career Excellence "ACE" programme.

The IT Team and Programme

We have an exciting opportunity for two Apprentices to join Fieldfisher's London offices.

The successful candidates will rotate across the various sub-teams within IT, including Local IT Support, Audio Visual, IT Service Desk and IT Infrastructure Services.

As an Apprentice, 20% of your work time will be dedicated to completing a nationally recognised qualification in IT with the firm's chosen provider.

As an Apprentice in IT, you will get the opportunity to:

Local IT Support

  • Be the first point of contact for all IT walk-ups
  • Assist with any break/fix incidents on hardware
  • Manage any new requests for software and hardware
  • Imaging of devices preparing them for deployment
  • Maintain the asset database with any changes to software and hardware
  • Enter all transactions into the ticket logging system
  • Act as a collection point for IT equipment pick-ups
  • Prepare hardware

Audio Visual (London based roles only)

  • Perform routine meeting room checks on all floors
  • Setting up video and audio conferences and presentations
  • Preparation of rooms with Reception and Concierge teams
  • Record of Video Conferences and sharing recordings with internal staff
  • Support firm events
  • Pre event testing for internal and external events
  • Quick response to emergency / ad-hoc requests
  • Recording faults and fixes in the IT ticketing system
  • Report faults to the Third-Party Supplier
  • Supporting Third Party Engineers to fix faults
  • Liaising with IT Teams on PC faults, phone faults, network performance issues and ordering equipment
  • Liaising closely with the Reception Supervisor on daily schedules and plan accordingly

IT Infrastructure Services

  • Manage and maintain the firms VMware environment across all Data Centres and offices.
  • Manage and maintain the firms Exchange Online and Mimecast services.
  • Manage and maintain the firm's vulnerability management solutions and remediate vulnerabilities in line with the firm's policies.
  • Maintaining printers, print management software, scanners
  • Performing backups and restoration of data
  • Installation and configuration of on-prem and cloud resources
  • Troubleshoot and fix Server system application related issues Manage and maintain the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution
  • Ensure all systems and services are proactively monitored

IT Service Desk

  • The provision of initial point of contact support for incidents and service requests
  • To carry out initial diagnosis on all logged issues/incidents received
  • Regularly review and update incidents
  • Proactively keep the Customer informed
  • To assist with root-cause analysis relating to problem management tickets
  • To help maintain effective records of work for current resolution procedures and internal processes with the team
  • To help maintain Knowledge Base articles in our ITSM tool

An individual with a keen interest in technology seeking to explore various aspects of IT within a professional services environment. This exploration spans Local Support, Service Desk experience, and infrastructure and network services.
